Dragon's claw grafting method

Dragon's Toads breeding generally adopts high position grafting and bud grafting and nesting. Due to the different grafting times of several methods, it is possible to make full use of rootstocks for grafting at different times. The specific approach is as follows:

First, the branch connection time is the March-April period before the springtime. First, choose the 3-5-year-old Sangha who grows robustly and has a straight trunk as its rootstock. Because the grafted trunks of the dragon's claws are not easy to grow thick, they should be selected as thick root stocks as possible, and the crowns should be cut off at high heights as required to ensure smooth and tidy sections. The scion selects annual branches and is 5-7 cm in length. First on the back of the first bud of the scion, 2-3 cm from the bud to cut a knife, cut a bevel about 2 cm long, and then underneath the knife, cut into a wedge. On the ready-to-growth rootstock, straight down and straight, the incision is slightly xylem on the inside of the forming layer, and the length is equal to the length of the scion. The scion is inserted into the rootstock so that the forming layers on both sides or sides are aligned and tied with hemp or plastic strips. Each plant should receive 3-5 scions in order to form the crown early. After 20 days of inspection, the scions were ready to survive. After the survival, pay attention to eradicate the sprouts of the rootstock and promote the growth of the scion. For those who do not survive, retain 3-5 buds of the rootstock and wait for budding or nesting in May-June.

Second, the bud connection time is from May to June. The rootstocks are the surviving Scorpions of the spring scion. Firstly, the rootstock was poured once every 10 days prior to grafting so that the epidermis was detached from the xylem. When budding, the new branches kept in spring in the rootstock are cut short by 5-7 cm. The scion elects the axillary buds on the robust shoots of the year, cuts the leaves, leaves a few petioles, and cuts the shield-shaped buds around the bud as 2 centimeters, without xylem. Cut open "T"-shaped cutting edge on the cut rootstock sticks, deep and xylem, the same size and buds, with a knife to open, the buds will be embedded, the upper end of the buds and the rootstock cross cuts next, with hemp rope or plastic strips Tied up. After 10 days or so, check whether it survives. If the scion handle is touched and touched down, it proves to be alive. Otherwise, grafting fails.

Third, the nesting method, in addition to buds, the nesting method has a higher survival rate. Select vigorously growing dragon claw twigs as scion, cut and remove the leaves, and then “twist” from the base, ie, detach the tree epidermis from the xylem, turn it off when it is 4-5 centimeters, take out the xylem, and immediately select preselected Cut out the buds of the Chinese yak rootstocks with the same thickness. Peel the skin from the top and put on the skin. With the stripping and covering, after the tightening, keep half a centimeter wide rootstock peeled and tie the excess skin to the sleeve. Regardless of branching or budding, the dressing should be removed after 1 month and the sprouts of rootstock should be removed. In the daily management, the vigorously growing shoots grafted and survived are pruned and trimmed to form an ideal crown. When grafted seedlings are young, attention should be paid to the prevention and control of aphids and locusts.
