The common methods used by cows for estrus are the following:

(1) Prostaglandin method. Intramuscular injection of prostaglandins and analogues is the simplest method of estrus in the same period. The amount of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) is 20 mg-30 mg, and the amount of prostaglandin C (PGC) is 400 μg-600 μg.

(2) The second prostaglandin method. Since prostaglandins did not dissolve the corpus luteum within 5 days after the eggs of female steaks, only 70% of the cows responded at a time. Therefore, a higher rate of estrus was obtained by using two doses at intervals of 11 days to 12 days.

(3) progesterone vaginal suppository method. Use a special placement device to place the pessary into the vagina, first close the vaginal plug, place it into the placer, push the placer into the vagina to push the vaginal plug, and exit the placer.

(4) The prostaglandin-conjugated progesterone treatment was performed with progesterone for 7 days, and the PGF2α injection was terminated at the end of the treatment. At the end of the estrus treatment, 3 mg to 5 mg of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), 700 units to 1000 units of gestational horse serum gonadotropin (PMSG) or 50 micrograms to 150 micrograms of oxytocin are administered.
