Second, corn earworms are dominated by bollworms and corn borers, accounting for 80% to 90%, and the remaining pests only account for 10% to 20%. To master the characteristics of the occurrence of corn earworms, we can take effective control measures.

The earliest period of prevention and control of corn earworms: The filaments of the ear begin to wilt and the corn pollination has just ended. Premature prevention and treatment during the prosperous period of the ear, will affect the pollination of the corn; if the prevention and treatment are too late, the pests have penetrated into the ear to cause harm, leading to difficulties in control and prevention and control. The period from mid-August to the end of August in China's Huang-Huai Region is the main period for the majority of summer maize flowering and pollination.
