Garden cucumber cultivation technology

Cucumber cultivation has a long history in China and is widely distributed. In addition to open cultivation in the northern regions, the production of protected land has also developed rapidly. The cucumber fruit is crisp, juicy, fragrant, and nutritious. It contains a variety of vitamins and minerals. Raw food, cooked food, and pickling are all deeply loved by the general public.

The ground cucumbers are transferred to pots and cultivated as potted cucumbers. The pots are suspended in greenhouses, greenhouses and other protective ground facilities. The space is used for three-dimensional production called hanging cucumbers. This new cultivation method has been accepted by the majority of farmers. Tests have shown that each pot can produce 2 to 2.5 kg of cucumber and the income is 10 to 15 yuan. Hanging cucumber is a new breakthrough in the cultivation of protected land, which can effectively use the space in the facility, increase the yield of cucumber, and bring considerable economic benefits to vegetable growers. The current agricultural network in China is to introduce the cultivation techniques of cucumbers in greenhouses for protection.

1 variety selection

The selection of suitable varieties for cultivation in protected areas, such as Jinyou 35, Jinyou 38, Zhongnong 26, Zhongnong 29, etc.

2 Cultivation of strong seedlings

In early December, seedlings were planted in greenhouses. Seedling spacing was 5 cm square. When the seedlings grew to two true leaves, they were transplanted into a 10 cm diameter nutrient bowl. In order to cultivate strong seedlings and large seedlings, three key measures must be taken to control temperature, spray ethephon, and supplement light.

2.1 Preparation of nutritious soil

30% horticultural soil, 30% horse dung, 30% turfgrass, 10% sesame oil, or 10% soybean cake are crushed and sieved, then ammonium sulfate 0.1% and potassium dihydrogen phosphate 0.2% are added. Bed and nutrition.

2.2 Temperature Control

During the day, the temperature is controlled at 20 to 25°C and at night at 15°C. This temperature can prevent leggy and nurture strong seedlings, which is also conducive to the differentiation of female flower buds.

2.3 Ethephon treatment

When the seedling grows 1 true leaf, treatment with 150-200mg/kg ethephon spray promotes early differentiation and multiple differentiation of female flowers, which is the basis for early maturing and high yield of cucumber in the hanging pot.

2.4 Supplemental lighting

In January, when the outdoor temperature is low, it is necessary to cover early and cover up the insulation, resulting in shorter illumination time. Therefore, use energy-saving lamps to fill the light and make the daily illumination time reach 8 hours. This is also an important condition for flower bud differentiation of cucumber female flowers.

3 colonization

In mid-January, the seedlings were planted in pots with a seedling age of 40 to 45 days. Use a flowerpot with a diameter of 25-30cm. The pot-land should be fertile and loose, but it is necessary to prevent hypertrophy from burning the seedlings.

4 hanging basin

The planted pots are hoisted in the middle of the protected area by ropes. There are two methods: one is to use two ropes to hang the pots, that is, use two ropes to pull the “ten” in the bottom of the pots, and then directly On the beam frame, the second method is to use a three-strand rope hanging method, that is, in the upper part of the flower pot with a thin wire or rope around the week, three equal parts and then after the three ropes, then use the hook to hang the flower pot in a light, load With a strong beam, the flowerpots are 60-70cm away from the roof.

5 watering fertilizer

Usually 2 ~ 3d watered once, such as the use of film cover basin, you can extend the number of days. It is best to use 0.1% ammonium sulfate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate fertilizer solution alternately with fresh water, but also use 0.1% of urea and potassium dihydrogen phosphate for foliar spray.

6 Timing at the right time

When the melon grows to 9 to 10 leaves, it is topping to control vegetative growth and promote fruit sedentary and rapid growth, so as to mention the morning market.

7 Pest control

The major pests and diseases of cucumbers in greenhouses are downy mildew and aphids. Downy mildew can be sprayed with 90% bisphosphoaluminum 200 times liquid, or 25% doxorubicin manganese xylene 600 times liquid, or 68.75% silver pharmacy 700 times spray. Prevention and control; aphids can be used 3% acetamiprid 2000 times, or 10% imidacloprid 1500 times, or 4.5% beta cypermethrin spray control 1500 times.

8 early harvest

Suspended cucumbers are listed early and have high prices. When the fruit has a commercial value, it can be harvested. Generally, it is marketed at the beginning of March and is about 20 days earlier than the same-age seedlings cultivated on the ground. The important reason for the early listing of cucumber in the hanging pot is that the temperature of the potted soil is about 2°C higher than the ground temperature, and the roots of the cucumber are well developed and the plants grow fast.
