The division and use of layer chicken feed

In the production practice of breeding laying hens, some farmers have kept chicken for many years, but little is known about the knowledge of chicken feed. Here we briefly introduce how to distinguish feeds.

Energy feed

Energy feed refers to the content of crude fiber in feed dry matter below 18%, crude protein content below 20%, and feed per kilogram of feed containing more than 2,500 kcal of digestible energy, such as corn, barley, wheat, sugar Bran, etc., is the main source of energy for laying hens.

Protein feed

Protein feed refers to feed that has a crude protein content of 20% or more and crude fiber content of 18% or less. It includes plant protein feeds (such as soybeans, bean cakes, soybean meal, peanut cake, etc.) and animal protein feeds (such as Fish meal, blood meal, yeast meal, meat and bone meal, etc.) can be used as a supplement to other energy-defying diets to form a balanced diet to increase feed conversion. Its content generally accounts for 15%-35% of the full-price compound feed.

Compound feed

Compound feed refers to the use of a variety of feed ingredients, according to the nutritional needs of laying hens, in accordance with a certain feed formulation processed by the composition of a balanced, complete and mixed commercial feed, known as the compound feed. According to its composition and use, compound feed can be divided into: full price feed, concentrated feed, pre-mixed feed and so on.

Full price feed

Full-price compound feed refers to the compound feed containing the type and quantity of nutrients that can meet the needs of layer chicken's growth and development and maintenance. The finished product can be directly used for the production of layer chicken in different periods, and the use is more convenient, but the storage time is not suitable. Too long.

Concentrate feed

Concentrated feeds are concentrates. Also known as protein supplement feed, it refers to the removal of feed ingredients other than energy feeds (eg, corn, bran) from full-priced compound feeds, including protein feed, minerals, and various trace additives. When used, as long as the concentrated feed is blended with the energy feed in a certain proportion, it can be a full-priced compound feed and can be directly used for the feeding of laying hens. Shares generally account for 15%-50% of complete feed.

Premixed feed

Premixed feeds are premixes, also known as premixes (additive premixes, additive premixes), which refer to the removal of energy feeds, protein feeds (eg, various types of cakes, fishmeal, etc.) The main constant after the minerals (such as calcium, phosphorus and salt, etc.), by a variety of vitamins, trace elements and other trace additives and carriers or diluents, according to a certain technical means to add a uniform material. The share amounts to about 0.5% to 5% of the full-priced feed, but the current share in production is 1%.
